Key responsibilities & impact- Design and implement cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure services for compute, container orchestration, and managed databases
- Develop reference architectures and best practices for scalable, resilient, and cost-effective infrastructure
- Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams
- Create and maintain infrastructure as code
- Ensure cloud infrastructure design aligns with SOC requirements
- Implement cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, role-based access control, and network segmentation
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for third-party compliance auditors
- Support audits, evidence collection, and remediation
- Maintain documentation required for SOC audits
- Own security-relevant configuration and controls for cloud infrastructure
- Monitor virtual machine resource utilization and address capacity or performance issues
- Apply operating system and security patches to virtual machines
- Perform routine platform maintenance across cloud environments
- Monitor system logs and alerts and troubleshoot infrastructure issues
- Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents, documenting root cause and remediation
- Design for high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity across cloud regions
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using observability tools
- Optimize cloud costs through right sizing, reserved capacity, and governance policies
- Support cloud infrastructure incident response
- Partner with engineering and leadership to align cloud strategy with business goals
- Act as a liaison between internal teams and external compliance auditors
- Mentor engineers on cloud architecture best practices
- Communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience designing and implementing solutions on major cloud platforms
- Strong understanding of SOC requirements and experience supporting compliance audits with external auditors
- Strong cloud networking and systems administration skills
- Experience with virtual networks, subnets, firewalls, load balancing, DNS, and server configuration and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with identity management and security services
- Experience with infrastructure as code tooling
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Strong understanding of encryption, key management, and secure data handling
- Comfort owning security-related decisions independently
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Cloud architecture or security certifications from major cloud providers preferred
- Experience with hybrid or multi-cloud environments preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, PCI DSS, or GDPR preferred
- Experience with container orchestration platforms preferred
- Must be able to show documentation authorizing legal work in the United States of America
