About the role

  • Work closely with Product Management and Product Marketing to define and execute on the product strategy, vision, and roadmap for the Malwarebytes Windows Consumer product line
  • Conduct market and user research to identify unmet customer needs and to inform future product direction
  • Analyze competitive landscape and conduct technology assessments
  • Advocate for users to ensure customer satisfaction and acceptance
  • Collaborate with UI/UX and Engineering teams to define new product experiences
  • Translate high-level product features into epics and detailed user stories
  • Build, prune, and maintain the product backlog of epics, user stories, defects, refactors, and infrastructure work
  • Prioritize sprint work to focus on delivering maximum value aligned with the overall product strategy
  • Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement sessions, sprint reviews, and participate in retrospectives and daily standups
  • Collaborate with the scrum team to promote the product vision, explain your user stories, make key decisions, negotiate trade-offs, and ensure on-time delivery of releases
  • Prepare and participate in release planning
  • Partner with Program Management and Marketing to ensure smooth product launches
  • Collaborate with other Technical, Product Strategy, and Product Marketing Managers to share knowledge and experience, coordinate with other releases, and deliver great products
  • Participate in beta programs and our public forums on an on-going basis
  • Maintain close relationships with the cross-functional team (Support, Marketing, Engineering, and QA) to answer questions about your product

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of software product management or product owner experience in a technical organization
  • Background in the Windows space required
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred
  • Self-directed, proactive, highly detailed-oriented, results-driven, with the ability to effectively operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, collaborative environment
  • Strong exposure to user experience design and user research
  • Ability to collaborate and interact across functional boundaries and across multiple organizational levels and geographic regions
  • Ability to speak with internal and external customers with knowledge and professionalism
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle
  • Creative thinker, problem solver, and strong leader with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, adapt to changes, maintain a positive attitude, and motivate a team
