About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Manage a mixed-complexity civil litigation caseload
Conduct litigation case management including issuing proceedings
Provide timely, clear and commercially focused legal advice to clients
Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolution outcomes
Attend client meetings, conferences, mediations and court hearings
Supervise and mentor paralegals or junior fee-earners
Prepare cost estimates and assist with billing

Requirements

What you’ll need

Qualified solicitor or CILEX practitioner with minimum 3 years PQE in civil litigation
Proven experience drafting pleadings, witness statements, applications and other litigation documents
Practical knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules, court processes and deadlines
Strong client-care and communication skills
Excellent organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
Advocacy or advocacy exposure is desirable
Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff
Proficiency with case management systems and standard office IT applications
Commercial awareness and pragmatic approach to resolving disputes
