About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish and maintain territory call objectives and portfolio balance
- Develop and complete territory business plans
- Create call plans identifying contacts, frequency, and products
- Develop and execute prescriber action plans
- Use approved promotional materials and effective selling techniques
- Meet call activity, sample utilization, and quarterly business plan metrics
- Comply with FDA, PDMA, HPPA, and Keenova policies when interacting with healthcare professionals
- Maintain databases documenting sales calls, trends, objectives, sampling data, and territory performance
- Manage the sample accountability program
- Complete activity reports, email and voicemail checks, quarterly plan updates, and expense reports
- Maintain healthcare issue, product, disease-state, patient education, consumer education, payer, and market knowledge
- Learn and apply sales training and product information
- Attend and participate in required sales conferences and training classes
- Build and expand relationships with healthcare professionals and customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years’ relevant experience preferred
- Biopharmaceutical industry experience required
- B2B sales experience required
- Ability to understand medical, computer, and data-analysis technical issues
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare issues, products, and disease states
- Expert product knowledge, including patient and consumer education
- Knowledge of market environment and local payer environment
- Ability to learn and execute core sales training curriculum
- Ability to learn and apply information about new and existing products
- Ability to prepare for and attend required sales conferences and training classes
- Overnight travel of 15% or more is necessary
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
