About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Meet or exceed territory sales plan and expense plan goals by developing and implementing territory-specific strategies
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships with targeted opinion leaders and physicians
  • Maintain current knowledge of Company products and relevant disease states
  • Develop and execute a Territory Business Plan, workday and weekly plans, call plans, and sales-call preparation
  • Develop and implement territory programs such as speakers’ bureau programs and symposia
  • Develop and maintain permanent customer records
  • Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time
  • Deliver current, effective, and accurate sales presentations to customers
  • Present a professional sales image in business matters
  • Operate the assigned sales territory in compliance with regulations, Pharma guidelines, and company policies
  • Attend regional and national conferences throughout the year

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years’ experience in rheumatology, pulmonology, neurology, or related therapeutic areas
  • In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree: Associate’s Degree and 5+ years’ experience, or 7+ years’ successful, proven pharmaceutical or industry-equivalent experience in a listed therapeutic area
  • Documented success as a top producer
  • Superior clinical selling skills
  • Strong clinical and disease-state knowledge
  • Understanding of industry trends, economic sectors, and market dynamics
  • Ability to build new business and expand existing customer relationships
  • Ability to communicate accurately, concisely, and compellingly to varied audiences
  • Ability to identify and use available resources to solve problems
  • Current territory experience and customer knowledge highly preferred
  • Experience selling biologics to specialty physicians in rare disease areas preferred
  • Valid motor vehicle operator’s license
  • Ability to perform local travel; some overnight travel required
