About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead execution and continuous improvement of Malala Fund's owned digital channel strategy across all platforms
  • Develop platform-native content strategies, publishing cadence, audience engagement, and optimization across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, Malala.org, and emerging platforms
  • Grow global audiences through data-informed strategy, experimentation, social listening, and community management
  • Monitor platform trends, algorithm changes, and emerging formats and advise the organization on digital performance opportunities
  • Coordinate owned channels with public communications of Malala Fund's principals
  • Lead the end-to-end digital content pipeline from creative briefing through publishing and distribution
  • Manage and develop the Senior Creative Producer through direction, coaching, and feedback
  • Coordinate the digital publishing calendar with global and country communications, Partnership Managers, and Development
  • Ensure content meets accessibility, safeguarding, ethical storytelling, quality, consistency, and platform-relevance standards
  • Execute rapid-response digital communications during advocacy and fundraising moments
  • Partner with the Digital Fundraising Manager and Development team to connect digital communications with fundraising and supporter growth
  • Design and execute campaigns for Malala Day, International Day of the Girl, year-end giving, advocacy, and fundraising
  • Create mobilization pathways encouraging audiences to donate, advocate, subscribe, or take other actions
  • Support Development through digital storytelling, audience insights, and campaign performance
  • Manage digital production, paid media, and external-vendor budgets
  • Develop relationships with platforms, creators, cultural partners, brands, influencers, and other organizations
  • Manage external agencies, creative partners, and production vendors
  • Partner with country communications leads to balance global consistency with local relevance
  • Identify technology and social-media-company partnerships supporting advocacy, communications, and fundraising priorities
  • Manage the Sr. Content Producer

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7–10 years of experience leading digital communications, social media strategy, audience engagement, or digital marketing
  • Demonstrated track record of building engaged audiences and delivering measurable organizational impact
  • Expertise across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, X, and Facebook
  • Strong understanding of platform-native storytelling, audience behavior, analytics, and algorithmic trends
  • Experience developing and executing digital content strategies driving audience growth, engagement, advocacy, fundraising, or brand awareness
  • Experience with social-first content production across video, photography, graphics, and multimedia storytelling
  • Experience designing or supporting digital fundraising campaigns
  • Understanding of supporter acquisition, donor engagement, and long-term audience growth
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret performance data, test approaches, and translate insights into recommendations
  • Experience managing external agencies, creators, platforms, vendors, partnerships, and budgets
  • Experience leading communications for a high-profile, mission-driven organization, public figure, or brand
  • Understanding of global issues and cultural contexts, particularly in Malala Fund's regions of work
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration, project management, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to Malala Fund's mission, ethical storytelling, safeguarding, experimentation, measurable impact, and continuous improvement
  • International development experience is an advantage but not required

  • Starting salary range of $112,900 to $123,700
  • Approximately 3–5 trips annually, including international travel, for in-person team meetings, content gathering, or event staffing
