About the role

  • Selected applicants will work a full baseball season with the Content team
  • The fellowship is focused on attracting well-qualified applicants who understand the domestic and international significance of the game, the global makeup of rosters, and a general knowledge of the sport’s cultural impact on communities and fanbases
  • The Content Group has oversight of MLB.com, the official site of Major League Baseball, MLB App, and all of MLB’s social media accounts
  • Participate in the coverage of Spring Training along with MLB jewel events, including the 2026 All-Star Game, Little League Classic, and more

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 2-3 years of news gathering experience (including work done for school-related media outlets), with an emphasis on accuracy, writing, reporting and copy editing
  • Ability to work well under deadlines and fast-paced situations with multiple responsibilities
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with content management systems, social media platforms, and web publishing a plus
  • Applicants who have completed their degree prior to the start of the 2026 season
