Surgical Services Administrative Specialist

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Scheduling and Coordination: Efficiently receive, coordinate, and schedule surgical service requests.
- Determine and prepare system and equipment needs for each procedure.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff, physician offices, and vendors to ensure all necessary resources are available for surgical procedures.
- Resource Management: Manage and optimize supply and equipment costs.
- Coordinate labor and operating room requirements.
- Gather and analyze payer coverage, coding, and billing information to determine appropriate facility charges.
- Charge Entry and Audits: Perform thorough internal charge entry audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure proper coding to maximize reimbursement.
- Consult with clinical staff to address and resolve any discrepancies.
- Administrative Support: Execute routine administrative duties and oversee workflow to support surgical services.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Time Management and Organizational Skills: Demonstrated ability to balance and manage multiple schedules and tasks simultaneously.
- Maintain detailed records of booking sheets, charges, communications with clinical staff, and phone calls.
- Ability to Thrive Under Pressure: Stay calm and efficient when handling urgent and emergency surgical requests.
- Adapt quickly to changing situations and demands.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn and navigate relevant software and systems.
