About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Knock on doors and talk with voters
Make phone calls and participate in other voter outreach
Recruit volunteers for canvasses, phone banks, texting, and other activities
Welcome, train, and support volunteers during shifts
Help lead canvass launches and phone banks
Distribute campaign literature and other materials
Keep accurate records of voter conversations and volunteer participation
Help film short videos of supporters sharing why they support pro-conservation candidates
Participate in regular team meetings, trainings, and check-ins
Represent Maine Conservation Voters Action Fund professionally and respectfully

Requirements

What you’ll need

Care about protecting Maine's environment and building a fair and healthy future for all Mainers
Enjoy talking with people and listening to different perspectives
Dependable, organized, and able to work independently
Able to motivate and support volunteers
Comfortable using a phone and basic digital tools
Able to work some afternoons, evenings, and weekends
Able to travel within an assigned area and have reliable transportation
Valid driver's license and current auto insurance; a driving record check may be conducted
Access to a personal smartphone with reliable service for calling, texting, and coordinating during shifts
Previous organizing, canvassing, customer service, community outreach, or volunteer experience is helpful but not required
Positions range from 20–40 hours per week through November 6, 2026
Temporary, at-will, non-exempt position
