About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Make MAIA's platform reliable, secure, auditable, and developer-friendly.
  • Take full ownership of our infrastructure, Hetzner first, AWS, GCP, and Azure for selected services.
  • Own our CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and deployment workflows, continuously improving rollout strategies, versioning, and rollback procedures.
  • Build, improve and maintain our observability stack (Grafana, Loki, Sentry, PostHog).

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Solid experience running production systems on Linux servers you administered yourself, not only on managed services like ECS, Cloud Run, App Service or similar.
  • Strong working knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose in production.
  • Experience with reverse proxies and API gateways such as Traefik or Kong.
  • Hands-on PostgreSQL operations experience: backup and restore that you have personally set up and tested, performance awareness, connection pooling.
  • Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or similar) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi or equivalent).
  • Working experience with an observability stack such as Grafana and Loki, Prometheus, or comparable tooling.
  • Strong security fundamentals: IAM and least privilege, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and patching.
  • Fluent in English. German is a plus.
