About the role

  • A three-year, individually tailored doctoral program within the Software and Data project house
  • Conducting a PhD on an AI framework for multi-source data integration to support product innovations in automotive development
  • Developing a scalable AI framework that combines internal data (production, sales, after-sales feedback) with external sources (social media, communities, market APIs, IoT telemetry, partner data)
  • Applying methods such as predictive analytics (e.g., preventive failure prediction), white-spot identification (detecting innovation gaps), and digital product innovation
  • Intensive research and development work carried out in close collaboration with industry partners and research organizations
  • Professional supervision from the department, the talent development team, and the university
  • Early discussions of potential career options within the company

Requirements

  • Excellent completed university degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable program with a focus on AI/Machine Learning
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence, databases, and data analysis
  • Experience in innovation management, particularly in identifying innovation gaps (white spots) to predict risks and improve products
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken
  • Independent scientific working style, flexibility, teamwork, structured thinking, and commitment
