About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to military children and families
- Deliver non-medical counseling and health and wellness presentations
- Consult with parents, personnel, and schools
- Enter counselor activity data through smart phone or web application
- Establish and maintain working relationships with community resources
- Provide training and guidance to staff and personnel
- Support critical incidents and special requests as directed
- Participate in regular training, Quality Improvement committees
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's Degree from an accredited Graduate Program in a Mental Health related field
- Valid unrestricted independent counseling license
- Minimum two years of post-licensure clinical experience
- Demonstrate intermediate-level competencies in technology and software (i.e., Microsoft Suite, Internet navigation)
- Ability to engage and communicate with military members or children as assigned
- Ability to traverse short and/or long distances within the base and maneuver through rugged locations
- Understanding, sensitivity and empathy for children, service members and their families.
- Ability to develop trusting, helping relationships.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Pass a Child National Agency Check and Inquiries (CNACI) Clearance.
- Vehicle Operator's License Requirement: Possess a valid U.S. state vehicle operator’s license.
