About the role
- Direct the Teaching & Learning Strategists' efforts to uncover, synthesize, and communicate pedagogical insights that inform investment and market strategy
- Define and prioritize problems to solve across disciplines and markets, ensuring the most pressing instructor and student needs are surfaced
- Partner with Program and Product leadership to translate field insights into actionable recommendations that shape product roadmaps and adoption strategies
- Oversee the cultivation of instructor relationships across disciplines, ensuring broad representation of pedagogical perspectives
- Support team members in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, key faculty partners, and advocates in partnership with the Program and Marketing teams
- Collaborate with leaders in the Sales, Marketing, Product, and Program teams to ensure pedagogical insights inform go-to-market strategies and messaging
- Provide strategic support for class tests, pilots, and sales tools to ensure pedagogical integrity and intended business impact
- Lead horizon scanning for emerging instructional trends, technology innovations, and best practices in teaching and learning, identifying opportunities to differentiate through pedagogical design
- Translate competitor and market intelligence into actionable insights that inform strategic direction
- Lead, mentor, and empower the Teaching & Learning Strategists to expand their product knowledge, business expertise, communication skills, and strategic impact
- Model inclusive leadership that values diverse pedagogical perspectives and encourages innovation
- Represent Macmillan Learning’s pedagogical leadership internally and externally through strategic initiatives, presentations, and partnerships
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in a business serving higher education customers
- Experience successfully communicating complex information verbally and in writing with a variety of stakeholders
- Experience developing teams in newly established roles within a business
- Teaching experience in a higher education context (preferred)
- Experience supporting customers using educational technology solutions (preferred)
- Curriculum design experience (preferred)
- Proven ability to lead innovation-driven initiatives that introduce new instructional approaches, models, or market differentiators based on emerging trends in teaching and learning (preferred)
