About the role

  • Provide senior artificial intelligence software development support to the Department of Commerce (DOC), International Trade Administration (ITA)
  • Develop, operate, repair, and maintain systems, applications, and IT environments in support of AI applications and/or system components
  • Support/perform requirements analysis, planning, design, deployment and ongoing operations management and technical support while employing SAFe agile practices
  • Responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of ITA’s AI systems, including model development, data handling, infrastructure and deployment, optimization, automation and integration
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AI advancements and new technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science or related fields of study
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience developing and maintaining AI solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in developing operating software that can be used for robots, artificial intelligence programs or other artificial intelligence applications
  • Experience working closely with electrical engineers or robotics engineers and others in order to produce systems that utilize artificial intelligence
  • Experience adapting or changing operating environments based on adding data
  • Experience programming systems to look for or seek out specific conditions and respond based on those factors
  • Find and interpret rich data sources, manage large amounts of data, merge data sources, ensure consistency of datasets, and create visualizations to aid in understanding data and solving business problems
  • Knowledge and expertise with languages like Python
  • Knowledge of PowerBI
  • Experience creating software code and automated test and build scripts to ensure adherence to established configuration and change management principles
  • Experience with developing and executing test plans, test scripts, test tools to minimize defects
  • Knowledge of how to diagnose problems, think critically, organize information, and develop optimal solutions for complex issues
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication in English
  • Must be able to work in a team environment with personnel from other companies, Government program management and administrative personnel, and technical staff members
  • Must be able to perform with minimal management oversight and have strong time management skills.
