About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide commercially oriented advice and support to the business on a wide range of legal issues including IP, marketing, regulatory compliance, employment, privacy and data protection
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks for Attain products and services
  • Monitor legal and regulatory compliance for all areas that may impact Attain’s operations
  • Assist the business with projects to improve products and services
  • Contribute to an innovative culture with your legal expertise and initiative and assist in the development and implementation of legal strategies and initiatives

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor of Laws degree and current Legal Practising Certificate, with 2+ years’ PQE gained in a law firm or in-house legal team, and a strong grounding in corporate and commercial law
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the business
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Proactive, self-motivated and solutions-focused, with a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound commercial judgement
  • Knowledge of Australian contract law and core commercial principles
  • Strong commercial acumen and an ability to provide practical legal advice aligned with business objectives
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities across a varied workload
  • Collaborative and team-oriented approach, with the ability to work effectively within a small shared services team
  • Experience in a start-up or technology business is advantageous, but not essential
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work autonomously while also contributing positively within a collaborative environment
  • Clear and confident communicator who values plain English and can translate complex legal concepts into practical, actionable advice.
