About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Develop and implement engineering strategies, goals and plans for the regional hire team that align with the company strategy
Lead and manage the regional engineering team to ensure they have the necessary resources, tools and training to deliver projects and meet the company objectives
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations overseeing the development and implementation of appropriate engineering processes and procedures
Monitor performance metrics to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards
Work closely with the operational & sales teams to identify and address customer needs and develop technical solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations
Collaborate with the wider company to identify emerging technologies, products and trends that may impact and develop strategies to incorporate these into our products and services
Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, industry associations and other external stakeholders to promote Mabey Hires engineering capabilities and foster collaboration and innovation
Provide technical expertise and guidance to the engineering teams and other stakeholders to ensure that projects are executed to the required quality standards
Develop and manage departmental budgets and resource allocation including recruitment and retention
Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes, technologies and practices to optimise performance, cost and customer satisfaction

Requirements

What you’ll need

Degree in civil or structural engineering or equivalent
Strong technical knowledge of temporary works solutions, including propping, formwork and groundworks
Experience of developing and implementing engineering strategies, policies and procedures
Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills
Full driving licence for travel to customer and internal sites
