About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide cloud application development support for a government contract client
Develop backend applications and services in Java
Deploy applications on GCP or equivalent cloud platforms
Design and implement REST APIs with authentication, authorization, and integration patterns
Integrate AI capabilities such as summarization, extraction, classification, and decision support
Apply secure engineering practices, including least privilege, secrets management, encryption, and audit logging
Use Git-based workflows and CI/CD release practices
Troubleshoot defects, tune performance, and support application observability
Collaborate with engineering, QA, DevOps, product, and security stakeholders
Potentially participate in Agile/SDLC processes, production support rotations, post-incident analysis, and corrective actions

Requirements

What you’ll need

US Citizenship is required
An active Public Trust level clearance is required
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent practical experience
Minimum of 3–5 years of software development experience (or equivalent demonstrated capability)
3–5 years of experience developing backend applications or services in Java
Hands-on experience with cloud services and deploying applications on GCP, or equivalent cloud experience with ability to ramp quickly
Experience designing and implementing REST APIs, including authentication/authorization approaches and integration patterns
Experience integrating AI capabilities into applications and familiarity with basic evaluation/monitoring concepts
Practical knowledge of secure engineering fundamentals, including least privilege access, secrets management, encryption, and audit logging
Proficiency with Git-based workflows and working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and release practices
Strong troubleshooting skills, including defect triage, performance tuning, and observability tools
Experience working across engineering, QA, DevOps, product, and security stakeholders
Preferred: experience with Agile teams and SDLC practices
Preferred: familiarity with VersionOne, ServiceNow, ALM practices, container/serverless concepts, production support rotations, post-incident analysis, and corrective actions
