About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own an AI engineering project end to end: understand the problem, build a working version, release it to users, and improve it based on feedback
  • Write readable and maintainable code
  • Regularly demo work to product, engineering, and business teams
  • Talk with people whose jobs are affected by the tool and observe their workflows
  • Translate business needs into deliverable engineering work
  • Use agentic AI tools such as Claude Code as the default development workflow
  • Evaluate where AI coding tools are effective or produce poor results
  • Experiment with new AI tools and report findings, including failures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Actively pursuing or recently obtained a degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Hands-on use of at least one AI coding agent to build something, whether a class project, side project, or hackathon entry
  • Working knowledge of Python, TypeScript, or a similar programming language
  • Comfort in a terminal; should not need a GUI for git
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar tools by reading documentation and experimenting
  • Preferred: Web development experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and any modern framework
  • Preferred: Knowledge of how LLMs work under the hood
  • Preferred: Experience building something used by other people
