💰 $90,000 - $100,000 per year
About the role
- Own the day-to-day People Ops functions such as maintaining employee records, managing HR tools/systems, and benefits administration (experience with Sequoia One, Lattice, Asana is helpful but not required).
- Build strong relationships with employees as a go-to resource for HR related matters, ensuring timely, accurate, and empathetic support.
- Manage key elements of the employee lifecycle including: onboarding and offboarding (in partnership with the Chief of Staff), 360 feedback, benefits OE, and promotion planning.
- Partner with PEO to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, as well as industry best practices for full-time and contract employees.
- Maintain and update internal policies and employee documentation to reflect legal requirements and best practices.
- Support major internal and external talent team projects, both for M13 and our portfolio companies.
- Utilize benchmarking tools to address organizational structure and compensation needs.
- Opportunity to stretch into Learning & Development programs on behalf of M13 and its portfolio companies.
Requirements
- 2-4 years relevant experience in HR and People Operations, PHR certification is a plus but certainly not required. If you’re interested in developing in this area, we will support your training!
- Ability to handle highly confidential employee information, with a mindset towards sensitivity and discretion.
- Prior VC / start-up experience and/or a curiosity to learn about VC
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-first attitude
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects when appropriate
- Strong understanding of legal / HR compliance foundational principles
