About the role

  • Lead daily operations of the POC across 50+ stores in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Eastern Cape, and Limpopo
  • Drive sales across cash, finance, and mobile activations, ensuring targets are met
  • Oversee merchandising, in-store experience, and customer engagement
  • Manage and mentor a core team of 4–8 staff and guide in-store promoters and agents
  • Track KPIs (finance vs. cash mix, SIM activations, revenue per store) and provide operational insights
  • Act as the go-to liaison for retail partner stakeholders and coordinate with finance, logistics, marketing, and legal teams
  • Capture lessons learned, identify growth levers, and feed into the business case for nationwide expansion in 2026
  • Report to the Director, International Strategy & Growth
  • 6-month proof-of-concept engagement with scale potential

Requirements

  • 5+ years in channel management, retail operations, or telecoms/fintech sales
  • Track record of leading multi-site rollouts
  • Strong execution focus and ability to translate strategy into measurable sales outcomes
  • Experience managing diverse teams (10+ staff) across multiple locations
  • Proficient in sales reporting tools, CRM systems, and Excel
  • Knowledge of telecoms, mobile money, or device financing is a plus
  • Deep understanding of South African retail and telecoms landscapes
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Legal right to work in South Africa (applicants are asked on the application form)
