About the role

  • Ensure provision of technical support for advisers and industry bodies
  • Support account management in discussions with financial advisers, paraplanners, and other industry professionals
  • Evaluate and monitor managed tasks to ensure support of strategic priorities
  • Develop and deploy training, coaching, and development (including CBTs) to intermediated distribution
  • Coach and mentor Technical Managers, providing technical advice
  • Provide regulatory, legislative, tax, and trust support
  • Act as spokesperson for PR, supporting campaigns and demonstrating technical expertise
  • Deputise for Head of Technical where appropriate
  • Collaborate with colleagues and maintain controls to support improvement of customer outcomes and reduction in operational risk

Requirements

  • Expert level knowledge of all legislative and planning matters affecting financial planning
  • A working knowledge of regulatory issues and able to advise on appropriate action from both manufacturer and distributor perspectives
  • Able to train and coach others including experts
  • Able to oversee accurate provision of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Significant experience in legislation and planning matters affecting financial planning
  • Experience of providing technical expertise to both internal and external customers
  • In-depth knowledge of advisory processes
  • Analytical mindset
  • Relevant degree, Chartered Financial Planner or equivalent
  • Relevant experience will also be taken into account
