About the role
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of technical projects, from initiation through planning, execution, transition and closure, ensuring outcomes are delivered in line with agreed scope, timelines and quality expectations.
- Define and maintain project plans, delivery milestones, resource requirements and dependencies, ensuring alignment with wider programmes and business priorities.
- Partner with business stakeholders to shape requirements, clarify objectives and define success measures, translating business needs into structured delivery plans.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary delivery teams, including technology, operations, risk, change and third-party suppliers, ensuring clear roles, accountability and ways of working.
- Establish and operate appropriate project governance, including decision forums, reporting cycles and escalation routes.
- Proactively manage project risks, issues and dependencies, maintaining accurate logs and implementing effective mitigations to protect delivery outcomes.
- Manage scope and change control, assessing impacts and supporting informed decision-making by sponsors and stakeholders.
- Monitor delivery progress and financial performance, providing clear, accurate and timely updates to sponsors and governance forums.
- Ensure technical solutions align with architectural standards, security, risk and regulatory requirements, and are operationally ready for implementation.
- Support effective handover into business-as-usual, including readiness activities, documentation, knowledge transfer and stakeholder engagement.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of delivery standards, tools and practices across the organisation.
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders through clear communication, professional challenge and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of technical delivery environments, including systems, platforms or digital solutions.
- Experience working within structured delivery and governance frameworks.
- Ability to interpret and communicate technical concepts in a clear and accessible way for non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and navigating delivery trade-offs.
- Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills, with attention to detail and quality.
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence, challenge constructively and drive alignment.
- Experience of delivering projects in complex financial services environments would be beneficial.
- Project Management certification or equivalent experience.
