Director, Health and Advocacy
Médecins du MondeDirector of Health and Advocacy overseeing the strategy for Médecins du Monde. Leading a team to coordinate health and advocacy efforts for social justice and access to healthcare.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Define and lead the association’s Health and Advocacy strategy in coordination with the Executive Director, operational departments and governing bodies.
- Ensure alignment of priorities, support to teams, and institutional positions.
- Represent Médecins du Monde with partners, networks, institutions and national and international coordination forums.
- Supervise and support a team of department heads and support functions, promoting cooperation, engagement and skills development.
- Contribute to the association’s overall strategy, governance activities and to securing funding for actions led by the department.
- Manage the department’s budget and oversee several high-impact, cross-cutting projects and initiatives.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree (or equivalent, Bac+5), ideally in public health or a field related to the department’s scope. Professional health training is a major asset.
- At least 15 years of professional experience, including several years in senior management, team leadership and health project management.
- Proven ability to define a strategic vision, lead change and bring together diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical, representational and influencing skills.
- Full professional proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken. Spanish is a plus.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
