About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Define and lead the association’s Health and Advocacy strategy in coordination with the Executive Director, operational departments and governing bodies.
  • Ensure alignment of priorities, support to teams, and institutional positions.
  • Represent Médecins du Monde with partners, networks, institutions and national and international coordination forums.
  • Supervise and support a team of department heads and support functions, promoting cooperation, engagement and skills development.
  • Contribute to the association’s overall strategy, governance activities and to securing funding for actions led by the department.
  • Manage the department’s budget and oversee several high-impact, cross-cutting projects and initiatives.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master’s degree (or equivalent, Bac+5), ideally in public health or a field related to the department’s scope. Professional health training is a major asset.
  • At least 15 years of professional experience, including several years in senior management, team leadership and health project management.
  • Proven ability to define a strategic vision, lead change and bring together diverse stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, representational and influencing skills.
  • Full professional proficiency in French and English, both written and spoken. Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
