About the role

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue goals within an assigned territory, to include prospecting, qualifying, and closing activities
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline, leveraging CRM tools to track opportunities, document sales activities, and generate accurate forecasts
  • Engage with prospective customers in a consultative sales capacity to align our products, recommendations, and use cases with their unique challenges and requirements. Must be competent at pitching, negotiating, and closing
  • Establish and nurture relationships with decision-makers, including agency directors, program managers, IT leaders, and procurement officials
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to negotiate SOWs, proposals, and presentations
  • Work closely with marketing, product, customer success, and sales to execute go-to-market strategies and ensure a seamless customer experience
  • Stay informed about trends, challenges, and regulatory changes within the child welfare and government sectors to position Lyssn as a trusted advisor
  • Utilize a suite of platforms to complete work remotely and conduct business in alignment with company processes and quality standards

Requirements

  • 8-10 years of sales experience, with at least 4 years selling technology solutions to state and local government agencies. Experience selling SaaS or in the child welfare domain preferred
  • Proven success in enterprise SaaS sales. Experience selling SaaS to child welfare or other HHS entities preferred
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences. You must be comfortable presenting to stakeholders across the entire government organization hierarchy
  • Ability to pick up new concepts, processes, and technologies quickly
  • Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., HubSpot), Adobe, Microsoft 365, and Google Suite
  • Ability to travel for client engagements, industry events, and internal off-site meetings
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, social work, or a related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of competitive and non-competitive purchasing and decision-maker roles within state and local governments
  • Exemplary teamwork and collaborative spirit
  • Understanding of large-scale EBP implementations and evaluations, including activities such as fidelity monitoring. Knowledge of implementation science, change management, or FFPSA legislation, a plus
