About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Drives unit performance to the business plan through sound operating practices
Coordinate operations activities in the assigned area to ensure that the unit is operated in the safest, most efficient manner possible
Set production priorities in conjunction with the Ethylene Unit Specialist and Operations Manager
Provide operating guidelines which are consistent with other shifts within the unit
Ensures compliance with Company Operational Excellence Standards and site procedures that support those standards
Be an effective communicator with the shift technicians, as well as between shift, day staff, and unit management
Establish shift standards such that all Ethylene unit technicians have a high level of safety and environmental awareness and are accountable for their actions
Develops hourly operations personnel through coaching, feedback, and unit assignments
Schedules and assigns hourly personnel to staff the unit
Provides recognition and feedback to technicians while acting as a coach and counselor
Administer company policies and procedures
Responsible for the assigned area’s environmental performance
Ensure compliance with applicable environmental rules, policies, and procedures
Understand and support the Equistar Quality Policy for the Clinton Plant; specifically finished product quality assurance

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School diploma
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a petrochemical manufacturing environment
Supervisory mark-up experience and Ethylene unit experience is highly desirable
Proven leadership capabilities
Demonstrated team-building abilities
Strong interpersonal skills
