About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Leadership of production shift team, including managing, developing and communicating with their team.
Assists in planning, directing, and managing the day-to-day personnel and operations of the Production Department.
Assists the Production Manager in monitoring and controlling direct operating costs of the Production Department.
Is responsible for daily product quality, investigations of quality problems and customer complaints.
Administers the Production Department safety program, accident investigations, and safety projects.
Assumes overall plant responsibility on off-hours and weekends.
Directs maintenance activities within the Production Department by daily and weekly planning.
Supervises and monitors all Production Department operations personnel training.
Ensures that operators know their responsibilities and holds operators accountable.
Ensures that weekly time sheets are filled out accurately and submitted timely.
Ensures that the Safety, Quality and Environmental Policy & Objectives are implemented and understood.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university in engineering, or equivalent experience/combined education required with typically, at least 3 years’ experience in engineering, plant operations, or technical field in addition to supervisory experience.
OR, in lieu of degree, typically have at least 7 years’ experience in engineering, plant operations, or technical field in addition to supervisory experience.
Demonstrated strong technical skills in Production area including batch and continuous unit operations, utilities and wastewater.
Strong communication skills, verbally and in writing to effectively work with a diverse set of cross-functional groups.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and motivate others with strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
