About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Draft ESA effects evaluation and determination documents for HGMPs
- Prepare NEPA Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements
- Evaluate hatchery program impacts on ESA-listed species
- Respond to internal, co-manager, and public comments
- Collaborate with NMFS staff, tribes, and state agencies
- Present technical findings and participate in meetings
- Deliverables: ESA documents, NEPA documents and response-to-comments packages, Technical analyses of hatchery impacts, Monthly progress reports and technical presentations
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master’s degree (MA/MS) AND at least five 5+ years of experience , OR Bachelor’s degree AND at least ten 10+ years of experience
- Minimum three (3) years of hatchery program experience
- Experience drafting ESA and NEPA documents
- Experience evaluating impacts to natural-origin fish populations
- Experience working with federal, tribal, and state co-managers
- Strong technical writing and communication skills
