About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Rally partners and internal stakeholders around platform and category strategies and initiatives, including the creation of category pages, brand stores and new services;
  • Own the category and be accountable for its P&L;
  • Track and drive performance at both brand and country level for KPIs that include revenue, volume, and margins;
  • Lead market data analysis to address opportunities or business performance issues;
  • Develop and optimise strategies and best practices that drive category success and growth;
  • Engaging and building relationships with key sellers to plan assortment, pricing, promotional and campaign activities to achieve sales goals
  • Build, manage and strengthen relationships with leading sellers, while abiding by our policies and guidelines for procurement processes;
  • Cultivate relationships with large offline sellers to boost range and availability; prepare them for the onboarding process where possible;
  • Identify assortment gaps and introduce solutions to support customer needs;
  • Rally sellers around campaigns and promotional events, and secure advertising spend;
  • Work closely with marketing and supply chain teams to ensure a reliable and operationally effective flow of goods to our fulfillment centres
  • Develop strong brand partnerships and be the internal go-to person for all brand-related matters;
  • Maintain supplier scorecards to optimise category performance;
  • Initiate cross-functional team collaborations to create systems and processes that support category needs;

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Business Management, Marketing, or relevant fields of study.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in E-Commerce, business development, buying or project management roles, ideally in a multinational retail/FMCG set- up or third-party marketplaces.
  • Able to leverage data points and market analysis to form actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Self-motivated, highly adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-changing and fluid environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Deadline-driven, with excellent planning and organizational skills.
