About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as the primary contact for referral sources, patients, and associated field-based sales representatives
  • Navigate new prescriptions through referral, service determination, and pharmacy management processes
  • Build and maintain relationships with referral-source personnel
  • Follow up with referral sources, patients, and caregivers to collect demographic, benefits, clinical, and prescription information
  • Communicate benefit investigation outcomes, patient costs, financial responsibility, and assistance options
  • Coordinate with Nurse Coordination for in-home nursing, prescription fulfillment, and shipping
  • Coordinate with Pharmacy Operations to support patient onboarding and ongoing fulfillment
  • Document provider, patient, caregiver, and field-team updates in systems of record
  • Track referral turnaround time, volume, workload metrics, and completion goals
  • Communicate referral status, outcomes, and next steps to stakeholders
  • Participate in quality assurance activities, audits, meetings, presentations, and related administrative duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience managing patient referral and prescription activities or reimbursement services in infusion or specialty therapies required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing customer service in a health care setting required
  • Electronic health medical record or pharmacy patient management experience
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in medical or pharmacy terminology, written or verbal
  • Moderate skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% for business purposes
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience supporting prescriber, healthcare-setting, patient, and field-facing communications related to referral or prescription services preferred
  • General understanding of prescription benefits, insurance/payer requirements, and verification processes
  • General experience in a health care setting or services environment
  • General knowledge of infusion therapy processes and patient needs
  • Scheduling flexibility and ability to work overtime when requested
  • Excellent written and verbal customer service and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Ability to organize referral work, meet time-sensitive deadlines, manage competing priorities, and maintain accurate records
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to use required technology platforms, applications, and programs
  • Ability to complete required legal, ethical, and compliance training and follow company policies
