About the role
- Assist in delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences
- Work collaboratively with the Trainee Manager to cultivate a passionate, high-performing team
- Build connections with the local community, other businesses, and charity organisations
- Assess progress towards objectives and help shape team structure for optimal performance
- Recruit, train and upskill team members and align roles to meet store needs
- Drive sales growth by analysing business metrics, setting targets and maximising sales through events and outreach
- Manage shop financials, control staffing, operational costs and stock levels to maintain retail margin
- Ensure the shop is well-stocked, visually appealing and adjust product displays for trends and seasons
- Plan and implement in-store and external events in collaboration with the PR team
- Promote safety and wellbeing, foster a positive work environment and support work-life balance
- Monitor sales trends and local customer needs, adjusting opening hours and staffing to maximise trading opportunities
Requirements
- Genuine passion for delivering exceptional customer service and leading by example
- Strong verbal communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement
- Management skills including navigating difficult conversations, setting and managing expectations
- Team leadership on the shop floor with a focus on coaching, development and maintaining team morale
- Ability to recruit, train and upskill team members
- Experience managing shop financials, controlling staffing, operational costs and stock levels
- Ability to plan and implement in-store and external events and collaborate with PR
