About the role
- Develop and execute the vision and strategy for our risk and finance reporting solutions, aligning with the bank’s goals and business objectives
- Lead the adoption and implementation of Data Mesh principles, ensuring that data is treated as a product and managed across decentralized domains
- Work with data product owners to define, build, and maintain data products that are reliable, accessible, and usable across various business units
- Oversee the architecture of data pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, other risk and finance applications, and analytics systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and security
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data engineers, architects, and platform specialists. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Ensure seamless integration of various data sources (internal and external) into the data platform, using modern ETL/ELT frameworks
- Leverage cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to manage and scale the Risk and Finance Reporting products
- Implement data governance policies, ensuring data quality, privacy, security, and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, DORA)
Requirements
- Minimum of 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform management, or similar roles
- Proven experience leading data platform architecture and implementation in cloud-based environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Strong expertise in data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Strong commercial experience with Python and Django
- Background in architectural and systems design
- Solid understanding of data governance, security best practices, and compliance standards
- Demonstrated ability to lead and build high-performing teams in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
- Fluent English is required in spoken and written communication due to working on the Pan-Baltic level.
