About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide employee-relations support for investigations, formal grievances and disciplinary cases
  • Lead major restructures
  • Review people data and partner with regions on employee-relations topics to support business objectives
  • Attend regional meetings twice a year
  • Lead appeals from HR Advisor-level cases
  • Mentor HR Advisors
  • Provide wellbeing support
  • Deliver training sessions to the HR team and wider business
  • Support litigation cases
  • Support the HR Advisor team leader with case administration, mainly appeals
  • Cover the HR Advisor team leader role during annual leave
  • Contribute to HR projects
  • Upskill managers on HR best practice and employee-relations capability
  • Act as escalation point for HR Advisor queries
  • Review stage 1 outcomes for HR Advisors
  • Support attrition reviews and related actions
  • Identify improvements within the HR function and support implementation
  • Provide HR Advisor team cover during leave
  • Support proactive action points
  • Support new managers joining through TUPE

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • At least 3 years of recent HR Advisor experience advising on employee relations matters and applying employment legislation
  • Experience running ER cases including disciplinaries, absence management, grievances and capability processes
  • Experience advising on and implementing restructures and redundancy processes
  • Strong UK employment law knowledge
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Experience building and managing productive relationships with a range of stakeholders
  • Experience managing and interpreting data
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Experience working with HR databases
  • Experience working within a team
  • Strong report-writing experience using software such as Microsoft Word
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs while delivering excellent service
  • Ability to work under pressure in a busy and complex role
  • Willingness to work flexibly when needed
  • CIPD qualified or working towards qualification (desirable)
  • Multi-site experience from a central location (advantageous)
  • Driving Licence required
  • Willingness to attend Becket House, Worthing quarterly for HR meetings
