Serve as the trust administrator for designated clients and provide day-to-day client management
Mentor, coach and supervise trust specialists in trust administration tasks
Prepare summaries and recommendations for discretionary actions and communicate with trustees, beneficiaries and financial advisors
Administer special assets and conduct annual trust reviews ensuring fiduciary standards are observed
Perform daily administration for trust and investment accounts including transaction management/execution, overdraft and tax lot management, account set-up/funding review and account termination
Consult with Trust Administration Committee, Trust Counsel, beneficiaries, outside trustees, financial advisors, attorneys and CPAs
Analyze and interpret relevant legal documents in relation to clients’ estate, tax and financial plans
Manage financial advisor and client relationships for moderately complex to complex relationships and resolve client issues
Participate in special projects and collaborate across the firm to enhance best practices and initiatives
Communicate fiduciary, tax, legal, administrative and investment matters to clients and partners
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Advanced degree/certification preferred
Five years’ experience in trust administration, preferably with a broker-dealer or in a traditional bank/trust company
Knowledge of financial planning, philanthropic planning and fiduciary law
Strong verbal and written communication skills preferred
Detail-oriented, especially with trust administration, tax and investment requirements
Strong use of Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to trust, and tax accounting applications
Strong organizational skills
Understanding of asset classes, allocation, risk and Prudent Investor standards
Ability to analyze and interpret legal documents including wills, trusts, agreements and entity documents
