About the role
- Build robust automation frameworks and craft reliable test strategies
- Collaborate closely with developers, product, and design
- Develop and document manual and automated testing plans based on product requirements
- Review business requirements and recommend changes to develop reliable applications
- Build automated end-to-end tests using the Playwright testing automation framework
- Build automated API tests using Postman or similar and implement automated tests in code
- Build and analyze performance tests
- Perform manual and exploratory testing as appropriate
- Automate regression testing for scalability
- Work with engineers to write API tests in code
- Work with engineering and product teams to streamline and automate release processes while ensuring stability and quality
- Work with stakeholders and business experts to ensure critical financial math is accurate and aligns with mortgage industry standards
- Integrate testing processes into CI/CD pipelines
- Aid users and program teams in investigating and reproducing production bugs
- Prioritize and categorize bugs and identify applications/areas with higher bug rates
- Become an expert in expected and desired behavior of mortgage applications
- Explore and develop AI testing frameworks and evaluate effectiveness
Requirements
- 3+ years in QA and SDET
- Engineering mindset; understands engineering and values tight feedback loops
- Experience building robust automation frameworks and crafting reliable test strategies
- Experience building automated end-to-end tests using Playwright
- Experience building automated API tests using Postman or similar and implementing API tests in code
- Experience building and analyzing performance tests
- Experience with manual and exploratory testing and automating regression testing
- Experience integrating testing processes into CI/CD pipelines and automating release processes
- Experience investigating and reproducing production bugs, prioritizing and categorizing bugs
- Experience working in an agile environment with team members in other cities and states
- Demonstrated communication and collaboration skills (discussions, Slack, and documentation)
- Familiarity with database testing, security testing, and accessibility testing is a plus
- Ability to work with stakeholders and business experts to ensure critical financial math accuracy
