Strategy Manager
Low Carbon Contracts CompanyStrategy Manager driving strategic projects for energy security and net zero at LCCC. Collaborating with stakeholders to align strategy with performance outcomes and governance.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Managing the design and delivery of the annual strategy cycle and business planning to determine what the organisation needs to prioritise to achieve its objectives
- Driving and supporting discrete strategic projects ranging from a few weeks to several months or more, to help LCCC deliver on its strategy.
- Communication and engagement across the organisation
- Supporting performance reporting
- Designing and delivering workshops for senior stakeholders (CEO, Executive team, Board) to identify areas for improvement
- Independently leading internal and external analysis utilising appropriate strategic frameworks, defining key strategic questions, and developing options and roadmaps
- Developing and documenting the company’s strategic direction; translating themes into actionable initiatives and projects that consider resource needs
- Supporting in developing the company’s CEO Objectives and scorecard, so that they are in line with the company’s strategic objectives
- Working with teams and stakeholders to drive engagement and alignment
- Growing and leveraging our external network to anchor our strategy in relevant external insights
- Facilitating engagement across the business at Heads of level to collate information on our portfolio of schemes and projects
- Collaborating with Finance to define resourcing and financial projections
- Analysing the information and creating business planning documentation including themes, risks, dependencies, and efficiency opportunities
- Guiding individuals at Heads and Executive levels across the organisation to scope and plan strategic projects (typically from the strategy process), track and manage the delivery of projects, undertake research and analysis, and present insights, options and recommendations
- Building strong trusted relationships around the organisation and helping different teams identify and articulate their contributions to LCCC’s overall strategy
- Collaborating within the team to facilitate the development of the scorecard and CEO Objectives
- Working with the Performance team to support the development of annual end-of-year corporate performance score and report
- Working with the Shareholder team to provide input into the Annual Report
Requirements
What you’ll need- Demonstrable experience applying a variety of strategy development and execution frameworks appropriate to context
- Demonstrable experience driving project-based problem-solving and delivery in collaboration with a variety of senior stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience applying project management techniques to material deliverables
- Ability to work independently / autonomously to deliver work.
- Workshop design and facilitation
- Analytical skills – comfortable and efficient deriving insights from quantitative and qualitative information
- Communication and presentation skills (including the use of PowerPoint for communicating ideas and structuring options)
- Degree in Business Administration/Management, Prince2 or other relevant qualifications desirable
- Strategy or transformation experience – commercial experience in management consulting, strategy or transformation experience
- Experience of working in the energy sector and/or government environments would be beneficial but not essential
