About the role

  • Monitor plan performance across medical, pharmacy, dental, and vision lines by reviewing monthly claims reports, tracking utilization trends, and identifying key cost drivers.
  • Summarize findings in clear financial reports and dashboards for internal teams and client-facing discussions.
  • Ensure data accuracy across all reporting, resolving discrepancies as they arise.
  • Build and maintain sophisticated underwriting and financial models to project renewal costs, evaluate plan design alternatives, and develop multi-year cost forecasts.
  • Support client budgeting decisions across fully insured, level-funded, and self-funded arrangements.
  • Translate complex modeling outputs into clear, client-ready exhibits and financial presentations.
  • Prepare underwriting submissions and RFPs, evaluate carrier proposals and stop-loss quotes, and develop detailed side-by-side financial comparisons to support client decision-making.
  • Conduct rigorous network discount analyses when evaluating alternative carriers, TPAs, and provider arrangements.
  • Evaluate stop-loss quotes from multiple carriers, assess attachment point adequacy relative to a client's claims exposure and risk tolerance, and negotiate contract terms.
  • Lead carrier negotiations on rates, assumptions, and contract terms.
  • Contribute data-driven perspectives in client strategy sessions, supporting plan design discussions, funding strategy recommendations, and long-term cost management planning.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of plan design changes and model contribution strategies and employee cost-sharing scenarios.
  • Present best-case, expected, and worst-case renewal scenarios to help clients understand trade-offs and align decisions with their risk tolerance.
  • Lead the financial portions of client meetings and presentations, translating complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations for HR leaders and executives.
  • Serve as a strategic financial partner to clients throughout the year — from post-renewal review through renewal execution — ensuring they understand their plan performance and can make confident, informed decisions.
  • Support new business development by preparing financial exhibits, assessing plan performance, and analyzing utilization data as needed.
  • Partner with LoVasco's internal Data & Engineering Team as they build software to automate the creation and delivery of monthly and quarterly claims dashboards.
  • Validate automated outputs, surface data anomalies, and provide ongoing feedback as the platform evolves — ensuring the final product reflects the depth and accuracy clients expect.
  • Guide and develop Financial Analysts, providing peer review of financial exhibits and deliverables to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Serve as a financial resource for Account Managers and Account Executives.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting tools, underwriting models, and internal processes, and participate in knowledge sharing, training, and intellectual capital development.
