About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Obtain relevant and complete social, medical, and orthopedic histories
  • Perform physical examinations using strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
  • Select diagnostic tests and accurately interpret labs and X-rays
  • Synthesize information from examinations, test results, EMR, written forms, and patient reports
  • Integrate medical and surgical history into orthopedic treatment decisions
  • Order pharmaceuticals, braces, therapies, and weight-bearing status
  • Provide timely and thorough patient education and health education
  • Apply and remove casts, splints, and braces
  • Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including joint, tendon, and bursa injections
  • Conduct hospital rounds and inpatient consultations, formulate treatment plans, and complete documentation
  • Maintain sterile technique and safety standards
  • Perform duties related to surgical first assisting
  • Primarily support the Orthopedic Trauma Team in Mount Holly, with ancillary support for other practice service lines as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
  • PA: NCCPA Certification and Physician Assistant license issued by the State of New Jersey
  • NP: CRNP or APN certification through an accredited body, RNFA certification, and advanced practice license with prescriptive authority through the NJ State Board of Nursing
  • Minimum two years of orthopedic experience including surgical first assist
  • Experience assisting in complex sports surgery cases such as ACL reconstruction, shoulder arthroscopy, and shoulder arthroplasty preferred
  • BLS Certification
  • Valid driver's license
