About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Obtain relevant and complete social, medical, and orthopedic histories
Perform physical examinations using strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology
Select diagnostic tests and accurately interpret labs and X-rays
Synthesize information from examinations, test results, EMR, written forms, and patient reports
Integrate medical and surgical history into orthopedic treatment decisions
Order pharmaceuticals, braces, therapies, and weight-bearing status
Provide timely and thorough patient education and health education
Apply and remove casts, splints, and braces
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including joint, tendon, and bursa injections
Conduct hospital rounds and inpatient consultations, formulate treatment plans, and complete documentation
Maintain sterile technique and safety standards
Perform duties related to surgical first assisting
Primarily support the Orthopedic Trauma Team in Mount Holly, with ancillary support for other practice service lines as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program
PA: NCCPA Certification and Physician Assistant license issued by the State of New Jersey
NP: CRNP or APN certification through an accredited body, RNFA certification, and advanced practice license with prescriptive authority through the NJ State Board of Nursing
Minimum two years of orthopedic experience including surgical first assist
Experience assisting in complex sports surgery cases such as ACL reconstruction, shoulder arthroscopy, and shoulder arthroplasty preferred
BLS Certification
Valid driver's license
