About the role

  • Manages the daily operation of the cardiovascular non-invasive testing departments to ensure optimal clinical operations, patient safety and satisfaction and develops cohesive teams.
  • Promotes the Virtua mission, vision and culture.
  • Manages day-to-day operations and personnel in planning and facilitating efficient patient care services to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Hires and evaluates staff; arranges staff coverage.
  • Responsible for department budget and for achieving budget targets.
  • Performs all appropriate documentation to remain compliant with current regulatory standards.
  • Responsible for communicating clinical and organizational information both inter and intra-departmentally through email, staff meetings and other methods of communication.
  • In conjunction with the director, designs, manages and evaluates multidisciplinary performance improvement programs.
  • Determines necessary space, equipment, supplies and support systems to ensure effective functioning of unit/department.
  • Responsible for completing Best People Reviews in conjunction with the director.
  • Implements disciplinary actions.
  • Maintains clinical competencies for staff in conjunction with director and advanced nurse clinician.
  • Responsible for researching and developing ongoing educational programs for staff.
  • Contributes to the development of departmental policies.
  • Contributes to the development of departmental SOPs that govern clinical and technical workflows.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies necessary for operations.
  • Participate in annual capital process for the department.
  • Assists in maintaining IAC credentialing and JCAHO standards.
  • Reviews patient satisfaction results and takes appropriate action to improve results.
  • Identifies and assists in the resolution of any problems which may arise between patients and families, support staff, providers, and other departments.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3-5 years management experience in a clinical department
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records
  • Neonatal/Pediatric experience preferred.
  • If hired, must train to NICU within a year.
  • Associate’s degree preferred, related experience in lieu of a degree will be considered.
  • CPR certification required.
