About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Own financial models, operating plans, and scenario planning
Partner with teams on headcount planning, budgeting, and investment tradeoffs
Track revenue, costs, and margin drivers and identify changes
Build and maintain internal dashboards and reporting systems
Support pricing, forecasting, and board/investor communications
Bring financial rigor to product, go-to-market, and operational decisions
Lead strategic initiatives and special projects, including marketing ROI analysis and vendor negotiations
Identify areas lacking visibility and introduce structure
Set the strategy and operating mechanisms for the strategic finance function as the only in-house finance team member

Requirements

What you’ll need

5–7 years of experience in strategic finance, private equity, investment banking, or early-stage operating roles, or a CFA
Track record of partnering closely with leadership to drive financial clarity and decision-making
Experience building and maintaining operating models for real-world planning, ideally in SaaS or B2B startup environments
Experience owning or directly contributing to board reporting, headcount planning, or annual planning cycles
Experience modeling ARR, CAC, burn ratios, and other SaaS metrics
Experience designing internal reporting, dashboards, or planning rituals
Experience pressure-testing investments, running scenario analyses, or improving unit economics
Strong financial instincts and ability to thrive in ambiguity
Ability to influence decision-making cross-functionally
Genuine excitement about AI and its transformative potential
Ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear, actionable insights
Builder’s mindset and ability to create systems, models, and processes from scratch
