About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Responsible for the architecture, performance, reliability, and security of modern, cloud‑native database platforms.
Design, deploy, and operate cloud‑native database solutions using managed services (e.g., Amazon RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB).
Serve as the subject‑matter expert for database performance tuning in distributed and cloud environments.
Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, and operational tasks using scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
Implement and enforce security best practices, including encryption at rest and in transit.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in information systems, computer science, business management or related field; or equivalent work experience and knowledge.
8–10+ years of experience in database engineering or administration roles.
Strong experience with cloud‑native database technologies, with AWS expertise strongly preferred.
Hands‑on experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, DynamoDB, or similar platforms.
Experience migrating and modernizing on‑premises databases to the cloud.
