About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Work with cross-functional teams and vendors to outline electrical and compliance designs based on product specifications
  • Use simulation tools to identify risk areas
  • Review and create electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts using CAD software
  • Identify root causes of design failures and develop cost-effective mitigation strategies
  • Perform EMC testing, including radiated and conducted emissions, immunity, and ESD
  • Identify root causes of compliance failures and develop mitigation strategies such as filters, ferrites, or shielding modifications
  • Support pilot builds as needed
  • Take products from concept through design, validation, debugging, mass production, and delivery to customers

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Background in Electrical Engineering or Physics
  • 10+ years of experience in the electronics product design process
  • Familiarity with simulation tools such as Cadence Sigrity or ANSYS
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering tools including soldering machine, power supply, and oscilloscope
  • Proficiency with spectrum analyzer, EMI receiver, VNA, and signal generator
  • Mastery of global standards including FCC (USA), ISED (Canada), CE Mark (Europe), and KC (Korea)
  • Knowledge of Korean Radio Certification and FCC Certification protocols
  • Layout review experience
  • Experience with ANSYS HFSS, CST Studio Suite, or FEKO
  • Experience with high-speed standards including USB, MIPI, HDMI, DisplayPort, RGMII, and PCIe EMC testing
  • Experience with long-cable EMC testing for USB, HDMI, and coaxial cables
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills
  • Ability to explain complex regulatory requirements to non-technical stakeholders
  • Works well with others
  • Interest in technology and staying at the forefront of technology
