Key responsibilities & impact

Accurately assigns appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient records
Abstract essential data elements for tracking, reporting, and reimbursement purposes
Keying, billing and collections for assigned client databases
Review and analyze medical records for document deficiencies
Ensure accurate coding and compliance with Federal and State regulations
Verify accuracy of patient account, type, and demographic data
Meet productivity standards set by Revenue Integrity Coding department

Requirements

What you’ll need

1+ years of professional coding work experience
Nationally recognized coding certificate (CCA, CCS, CPC or AAPC certification required)
Knowledge and understanding of ICD 10 CM and CPT 4 coding guidelines and practices
Excellent organizational skills and detail-oriented
Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred: 1+ year(s) of coding experience in an acute care or medical office setting
Preferred: 2+ years of work-related experience with computer data entry and retrieval skills within an electronic medical record system
