About the role
- Lead customer conversations in English with confidence and clarity, translating mission needs into crisp technical requirements and clear next steps.
- Deeply understand Loft Orbital’s technical solution ecosystem, including satellite platforms, in-orbit capabilities, mission services, and operations to communicate and discuss mission solutions, accommodations, and design tradeoffs concisely to both customers and engineers.
- Evaluate customer design and interface requirements for physical and on-demand missions, aligning with Loft’s program offerings and technical specifications.
- Drive the development of customer-specific technical solutions, asking the right questions throughout the sales process to align on program expectations.
- Own technical proposal content end-to-end, including preliminary architectures, mission analyses, and written narratives that are structured, clear, and mission-oriented.
- Act as the primary coordination point between Business Development and Engineering—analyzing customer requirements, synthesizing information, building alignment, and pushing discussions to outcomes rather than open-ended exploration.
Requirements
- ~5+ years of experience in systems engineering, mission operations, or aerospace engineering, ideally working on LEO satellite programs.
- Some experience with evaluation of satellite payloads, mission planning, and CONOPS.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly, concisely, and confidently in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Experience working across functions in fast-paced organizations, where priorities shift and ambiguity is common.
- Strong systems-level thinking with the ability to quickly understand new architectures, tools, and internal processes.
- Proven ability to drive structure, clarity, and momentum in technical discussions with customers and internal teams.
- Comfortable operating hands-on in modern tools, internal systems, and lightweight processes typical of scaling startups.
- Passion for the commercial space industry and enthusiasm for working directly with customers.
