About the role

  • Automation Strategy: Lead the evolution of our testing strategy, shifting the balance from 80% manual to a highly automated, DevOps-integrated workflow. You will ensure our frameworks are scalable and resilient.
  • Technical Leadership: Act as the technical authority for QA, diving deep into Go and Kubernetes to unblock complex problems.
  • AI Augmentation: Champion the integration of AI-driven testing tools and LLMs to accelerate test case generation, automate root-cause analysis of complex K8s logs, and optimize our regression suites.
  • Team Development: Manage and mentor a team of QA Engineers and SDETs. You will act as a Supportive Elevator, prioritizing value over tasks and fostering an environment of fearless innovation where engineers are encouraged to build better solutions.
  • Release Excellence: Own the operational rhythm of our releases. You will partner with Engineering and Product to balance the reduction of technical debt with the speed required to deliver intuitive experiences for our customers.
  • Team Building: You will partner with the People Team to attract and identify world-class engineers who meet our rigorous technical bar.

Requirements

  • Experience: You have 5+ years of testing experience with a strong focus on backend/API testing and DevOps workflows.
  • Kubernetes Proficiency: You possess deep expertise in Kubernetes and understand how to test complex distributed systems—you don't just deploy to K8s; you understand how it works.
  • Management Experience: You have experience leading high-performing teams and know how to manage engineers who function autonomously.
  • Technical Fluency: You are comfortable reading and debugging code (preferably Go) and viewing feedback as an upgrade path.
  • Startup Grit: You thrive in fast-paced environments where you function autonomously to build something great, rejecting legacy tech in favor of modern solutions.
  • Bonus points for: CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKAD,
  • Programming: Proficiency in Go is a significant plus.
  • Cloud Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Open Source Roots: A history of engaging with the community or contributing to open-source projects.
Benefits
  • Competitive Salary: We offer a competitive compensation package, including equity.
  • Platinum-Level Insurance: Health, dental, vision, and life Insurance, including plans for you and eligible dependents (benefits vary depending on country).
  • Flexible Working Schedule: You have a doctor’s appointment or need to head to the supermarket to get groceries at 2pm? We won’t have an issue with that. To us, results matter more than clocking in and out at the same time every day.
  • Workplace Flexibility: We’re very flexible about where you work. We know things can change in life and we’re happy to adjust the work environment for you along the way.
