About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Guide business development and strategic partnerships for a rapidly growing medical education company
  • Provide vision, strategic leadership, and tactical leadership to develop an integrated customer engagement strategy
  • Drive profitable revenue growth and identify strategic growth opportunities
  • Ensure the business is properly resourced to achieve growth and revenue targets
  • Partner with scientific affairs, events management, marketing, legal/compliance, and finance
  • Drive culture, team development, P/L management, growth, and ongoing business development
  • Manage the structure, vision, and organization needed to fulfill business objectives
  • Manage approximately 3–5 direct reports
  • Develop new account strategies and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Achieve budgeted revenue and gross margin goals within policies and expense budgets
  • Travel up to 50% of the time, including overnight travel and some weekends
  • Establish relationships, trust, and credibility across business development, strategic partnerships, scientific affairs, marketing, and other units
  • Understand the market and competitive landscape
  • Hire as needed and align business development and strategic partnerships teams
  • Increase revenue, acquire new accounts, customer count, and profitability

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of demonstrated and progressive experience in Pharmaceutical and/or Medical Device sales and marketing
  • Proven success in sales and marketing with revenue, profit, and market share growth
  • Experience leading a US salesforce and/or marketing team
  • Experience designing and executing effective sales plans
  • Success expanding adoption of new and existing products in competitive and changing markets
  • Experience interacting with Key Opinion Leaders and top customer executives
  • Ability to build synergistic internal and external teams
  • Hands-on management style adaptable to a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Sales-focused, accountable, and able to own aggressive revenue delivery, partnerships, new accounts, and growth communications
  • Good business sense and cross-functional operating ability
  • Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, mentoring, and talent-selection skills
  • Record of achieving objectives within time and budget limitations
  • Expertise partnering with senior leaders across operations, finance, sales, marketing, technology, and human resources
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally and externally
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field
  • Advanced degrees in science and business are desirable but not required
  • Professional network in oncology and other therapeutic areas or related biotechnology preferred
