About the role

  • Develop, implement, and maintain AutoCAD and Civil 3D standards across multiple states, including standards for DOTs and public agency clients
  • Establish workflows and best practices for modeling and plan/production organization-wide
  • Create and maintain a layer manager file to standardize color utilities for transportation projects and collaborate with survey teams on base files
  • Participate in the development and delivery of training for CAD users on Civil 3D application skills, standards, and workflows; provide ongoing mentorship and support
  • Analyze current CAD workflows, recommend and implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and consistency
  • Collaborate with project teams to streamline CAD and GIS related workflows and tools
  • Work closely with IT to coordinate upgrades, installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Autodesk products; create and test deployment setups
  • Support user management and license allocation; collaborate with Engineering Applications Manager to maintain compliance, manage budgets, and procurement
  • Ensure system stability and functionality by implementing updates and addressing software issues
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with project managers and design teams to support efficient project delivery
  • Participate in production work as needed to maintain skills and stay updated on application advancements
  • Develop and maintain workflow automations using AutoLISP, VisualLISP, Dynamo, or other programming languages
  • May perform other duties associated with this role

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, computer science, or a related field (equivalent training and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated expert-level knowledge of Civil 3D system and standards
  • Revit experience is a plus
  • Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary design teams
  • Successful track record in project delivery and adherence to standards
  • Expertise in developing and implementing design standards across multiple disciplines
  • Experience with software implementation and management
  • Competency in managing software licensing compliance
  • Proficiency in managing, patching, and upgrading a diverse set of Autodesk software applications
  • Familiarity with creating and conducting training programs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to continuous professional development
  • Experience developing and maintaining workflow automations using AutoLISP, VisualLISP, Dynamo, or other programming languages
  • Ability to manage AutoCAD standards and workspaces across multiple states
