About the role
- Develop, implement, and maintain AutoCAD and Civil 3D standards across multiple states
- Establish workflows and best practices for modeling and plan/production organization-wide
- Create and uphold standards for public agencies (DOTs and other clients) and develop layer manager files and collaborate with survey teams on base files
- Participate in development and delivery of training for CAD users on Civil 3D skills, standards, and workflows; provide mentorship and support
- Analyze current CAD workflows and recommend/implement process enhancements to increase efficiency and consistency
- Collaborate with project teams to streamline CAD and GIS related workflows and tools
- Work closely with IT to coordinate upgrades, installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of Autodesk products; create and test deployment setups
- Support user management and optimize license allocation; collaborate with Engineering Applications Manager on compliance, budgets, and procurement
- Implement updates, address software issues, and ensure system stability for CAD users
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with project managers and design teams; participate in production work as needed to stay current
- Develop and maintain workflow automations using AutoLISP, VisualLISP, Dynamo, or other programming languages
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, computer science, or a related field (equivalent training and experience considered)
- 10+ years of relevant experience with demonstrated expert-level knowledge of Civil 3D system and standards
- Strong expertise in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Revit experience is a plus
- Proven leadership in managing multidisciplinary design teams
- Successful track record in project delivery and adherence to standards
- Expertise in developing and implementing design standards across multiple disciplines
- Experience with software implementation, management, licensing compliance, patching, and upgrades for Autodesk products
- Familiarity with creating and conducting training programs and mentoring CAD users
- Competency with Autodesk products and add-ins; experience coordinating with IT for deployments
- Experience developing workflow automations using AutoLISP, VisualLISP, Dynamo, or other programming languages
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
