About the role

  • Work alongside PMs and POs to understand the business, ensuring solution decisions are driven by value, business domains, and customer experience.
  • Contribute to roadmaps and solution decisions where SAP:
  • is a transactional enabler;
  • drives consistent data and processes;
  • Design architectures that position SAP as part of an integrated landscape, connecting:
  • external digital platforms to the ERP;
  • microservices and events;
  • well-defined APIs and contracts;
  • integration with products rather than isolated processes.
  • Orchestrate decoupled integrations between SAP and other systems, focusing on APIs, messaging, and events to promote:
  • scalability;
  • observability;
  • resilience;
  • data consistency outside the core ERP.
  • Facilitate collaborative rituals (discovery, Event Storming, architectural review) combining technical and business perspectives.
  • Address strategies such as Clean Core: reduce unnecessary customizations and amplify extensibility via integration patterns outside the ERP when the ERP is already on S/4HANA or equivalent portals.
  • Support architectural governance decisions to maximize:
  • component reuse;
  • decoupling;
  • evolvability;
  • alignment with FinOps practices.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in SAP solutions architecture in hybrid environments (SAP + digital/external).
  • Clear understanding of SAP S/4HANA migration strategies, including brownfield, greenfield, and hybrid approaches, and their architectural impacts.
  • Experience with distributed architectures, events, APIs, messaging, and platform integration.
  • Proven track record collaborating with PMs, POs, and Engineering to define solutions and roadmaps.
  • Ability to discuss decisions not only from a technical perspective but also in terms of business value.
  • Experience with SAP BTP, Clean Core, and extensibility.
  • Know-how in domain-driven design, business capabilities, and integrated SaaS.
  • Experience in domain- and product-oriented organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native integrations and event-driven architectures.
