About the role
- Architect and evolve systems that operate real-world infrastructure across both product development and client-facing deployments
- Review and guide code across engineers at all experience levels
- Pair with engineers to solve complex implementation challenges
- Support client engagements alongside the engineering team when technical tradeoffs matter and help translate requirements into durable solutions
- Decide when to build, when to adapt, and when to say no
- Incorporate data, analytics, and ML where it improves reliability and operations
- Translate business needs into technical approaches engineers respect
- Help grow engineers into senior and staff-level decision makers while ensuring solutions work in both product and client delivery environments
- This is a hands-on engineering role. You will spend meaningful time in code.
Requirements
- Have operated large or complex production systems and understand their failure modes
- Are comfortable moving between architecture and implementation
- Lead through technical judgment rather than title
- Enjoy mentoring without becoming a people manager
- Have worked on products used by real customers
- Can balance ideal engineering with practical delivery
- Are comfortable using data and, increasingly, ML to improve system behavior (not just reporting)
