About the role

  • Provide executive oversight of all loan operations, setting and executing a clear strategic vision for operational excellence, compliance, and borrower experience.
  • Lead the organization through operational transformation and systems modernization, ensuring staff are equipped and supported through change.
  • Champion a culture of performance, innovation, and mission alignment, balancing efficiency with fairness during borrower engagement.
  • Develop and implement long-term operational strategies that support portfolio growth, risk management, and impact goals.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to align operations with organizational strategy, sustainability goals, and capital deployment objectives.
  • Manage loan servicing and lending operations teams that are responsible for servicing LISC loans, as well as technology, data, reporting, compliance, communications functions including servicing, technology, data, reporting, compliance, and communications.
  • Oversee all servicing and back-office loan servicing operations from loan boarding through payoff, including documentation, recording of disbursements, payment processing, escrows, and collateral management.
  • Ensure operational systems, processes, and staffing align with CDFI standards, funding partner expectations, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent relevant experience; advanced degree in business, finance, or community development preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in loan operations, servicing, or asset management, including 7+ years in senior management or executive roles within a CDFI, community lender, or mission-based financial institution.
  • Demonstrated success managing through organizational change, system implementations, or growth transitions.
  • Strong understanding of CDFI operations, loan products (small business, affordable housing, community facilities), and impact measurement.
  • Experience overseeing technology modernization and process improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of loan compliance and reporting requirements and experience implementing and managing internal controls.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and people leadership skills.
